Deregistering from the game should be a right for every citizen, period.

Keeping people on the voter rolls against their will - particularly when they're going to be utterly bombarded on election weekends - is both unethical and impractical in a game as opposed to RL.

Having said that, it should also be a serious decision with serious consequences, so while I do find the opening statement in poor taste, I strongly second the idea that if one deregisters, one shouldn't be able to return in several months, and such a reform would be a step in the right direction.

As an addendum, and having deregistered before out of stress, I would strongly encourage people from refraining from such snap judgements, or the equivalent of dancing on other people's graves. The environment of the last two elections and their aftermath has been unpleasant enough as it is.
