He's the best Valjean hands down, and that's not just because he originated the role. His voice just has this emotional and almost haunting quality to it. If you loved him as 24601 you'd love him even more as the titular character in The Phantom of the Opera (he was actually ALW's first choice for the role but turned it down to be Valjean).
