~17% of Republicans voting for it means that it's still DOA in the Senate unless & until they go nuclear.

Not necessarily.  The House is much more partisan than the Senate, typically (although that's becoming less so lately).

Getting 20-25% of Senate Republicans to back the bill is realistic. 20% would get it to 60 votes.

The MAGA cult is doing Russia's work by spreading fake news and misinformation about the election, which led to the insurrection. Putin is salivating at how much Trump has damaged US democracy.

The Republican party were Cold War hawks and complained about Russian disinformation, now the MAGAs welcomes it.

Then get your own party to come together.

Cave into Manchin with whatever he wants in order to abolish the filibuster.  If that doesn’t happen, then Dems don’t deserve to be the majority power in Congress.

Joe Manchin is odd for a Democrat in WV. Most people think he is a #populist fighting for the little guy such as Sherrod Brown or Richard Ojeda. He is a corporatist pro coal moderate.

He doesn't like pork and it would it tough to win him over with extra spending for WV. Robert Byrd could easily be won over for a tough vote, he was the king of pork in WV.

The idea that was no serious violence toward Capitol Police on January 6 is beyond laughable:

Not to mention this. Not exactly a harmless injury:

(That guy has been caught and he was a retired NYPD officer, oh the irony, although also horrifying.)

Also trying to downplay Brian Sicknick's death because he wasn't beaten to death but rather that a healthy 42-year old had a stroke after being repeatedly sprayed with chemicals used to deter bears and dealing with a high stress physical strenous situation really doesn't absolve the situation much.

LAW AND ORDER.
