President Obama and George W Bush are 10th cousins, once removed; they share a common ancestor from mid-17th century Cape Cod.

George W. Bush is my 8th cousin twice removed (IIRC); we share a common ancestor from 17th-century New Amsterdam.

My city hasn't been hit by a hurricane (ie: beyond flooding/power outages) since 1921. The reasons have been thought to include divine protection (from the St. in St. Petersburg) and a spirit of goodwill left behind by the Tocobagas.
