I still think the strategy was way off. They basically had all the money in the world to send these people to neat places and make these canned videos feel special. Instead, we get the Obama basement.

Why not send her to a national park with a first-rate camera crew? Why not shut down the Statue of Liberty for a day and send Bernie there to deliver his remarks? I know they want to avoid drawing a crowd, but there are plenty of isolated places they could have gone to do something powerful.

This is so flat, and it didn’t have to be that way if they were willing to inject some creativity into the process.

Chuck Schumer speaking with the Statue of Liberty behind him...and you can’t even see it.

Yeah. This is not quite what I meant when I suggested this location the other day. Cheesy

This is the 2nd convention with way too much identity politics.

This convention looks like the country. The RNC has future criminals on it's schedule for obviously racist reasons.

Don't mind Beet. He seems to be suffering from some economic anxiety lately.

This is good stuff. Each state and territory is shown and everyone is different.

Khan and the US Virgin Islands are amazing. Love them both. Khan is especially powerful.

Mr. Khan is honestly the sweetest dude. Glad to see him back this year.

So basically they're comparing Trump to a domestic abuser.

Well, we already know he's a molester and rapist, so it's not like they've got to try very hard.

She would have been the best president of the bunch.

Obama looks like he's going to cry. Can't blame him. How depressing it must be for him to have to give this speech. How far America has fallen.

It’s inevitable. After Harris we’ll have Whitmer as president for 8 years and then Mayor Pete for another 8. Center-Left Liberalisim is the future. You cannot escape destiny

Meh. We need a government fighting for big structural change in America so the rest of the Western world can be pulled on board too. Not certain that will be Kamala. We'll see how Warren fares against her in 2024.

I don't want to pretend that I am representative of "the American voter," or even that I can vote, but this convention has made the starkest case I've ever seen for how important it is to vote. There is this feeling in my chest, this passion, this sense that it is so overwhelmingly important to cast a ballot, that I've never experienced before. I was obviously infinitely more enthusiastic about Hillary Clinton, but I still never had this feeling. I have to hope that others are starting to realize the imperative of the moment.

I am not optimistic about tonight. Can't really count on Biden to deliver a good speech these days either, though his 2016 one was fantastic.

Not sure why KLB got all that time.

Tonight is not going well. I've also been surprised, overall, to see that Joe Biden has let the convention focus so much on "identity" issues. I love it, because I think they are so important, but the "selling point" of Biden was supposed to be his ability to talk to working-class whites. I haven't seen much of that at the convention. Maybe there really is something to be said for the talking point that he will be controlled by the party.

The needs of the moment override any preconceived notions on Biden's appeal.

Well, the need of the moment is for Biden to win.

Junior is confused because Joe talked about how much he loves his kids, and Trump clearly hates his kids except Ivanka

"The lie about Charlottesville."

This is about good and evil, folks.
