Do Israelis on the ground actually understand the severity of their isolation? Do they care or is their media just as bad as ours?

It seems Netanyahu's gamble worked. The confrontation with Iran and its conclusion seemed to have taken western media's attention off the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Just as I predicted.

Why else would Bibi want to antagonize Iran at the worst possible time?

Perfect.

Send in the hoplites. Let's finish the job.
The glee you hold for the inevitable massacre of Palestinians isn't surprising

In the end, Netanyahu was willing to destroy Israel's PR and reputation in order to cling on to power. Going by anecdotes, it seems Israelis of all political stripes don't realize the gravity of their diminished reputation. The damage is already done, regardless of what happens to Hamas. Israel has lost the war. I think anyone with half a brain knew how Netanyahu would react, but Biden decided to play good cop and it backfired.

Thomas Friedman, who is definitely in the Biden orbit, wrote about a week ago that Israel can either choose Rafah or Riyadh. They've chosen Rafah and they will face the inevitable isolation which comes with that.

Like a lot of people here, they don't really consider Palestinians worthy of human rights. It's no surprise they want them to starve in a desert. Just a total albatross of an "ally" who provide nothing but headaches.

And when the hell did "other awful nations did it too" become an excuse? Last I checked, regardless if you supported the wars or not, the United States at least tried to build semi-functioning nation-states in Iraq/Afghanistan. They never starved the civilians. Only nations partaking in genocide go that far.

The ICC is antisemitic. Bernie Sanders is antisemitic. Everyone is antisemitic.

I hate Netanyahu and the last 20 years of Israeli leadership, but I will defend his bloodthirsty policies because not defending Israel is antisemitic.

Israelis don't give a crap because they've never faced any consequences and they never will until the United States elects a leader that doesn't suck. Unfortunately, the two candidates running are by far the worst possible candidates for each party, so again, why should Israel care? They can be the favorite country of every sociopath who enjoys dead Muslims, while facing no repercussions for bombing cities and destroying culture for at least the next four years.

I don't want to hear Joe Biden's moralizing ever again. He's a ghoulish coward.
