I have expressed my belief in the fact that the revolutionary war was mainly a fight bewteen the French and the British, after the French saw that the locals had a chance in their local revolution. I don't feel that the U.S would be any better of if we had not fought there, and we'd be more like Canada, which is a good thing, but at the same time we have to consider the effects around the globe, this directly caused the far more important French Revolution, which then sparked revolutions all over Europe in the next 50-80 years, but the death tole was high during these years as well. so basically if one is looking with hindsight, its an even bigger choice, with the death of many people for freedom, and whether or not the costs of that and the lives are worth it.
So this caused the thing that sparked so many revolutions. Therefore, it caused those revolutions, even if indirectly. Therefore, it's more important.
