Trump seems to have done better preperation for this debate. He is doing better than in the first debate.

The fact that he did so poorly in the first debate makes that easy.

His performance, though, is far from stellar.

The debate ended surprisingly on a very civil note. Including a hand shake.

It seems that Trump has stopped the hemorrhage with his performance tonight.

The post debate will show how effective he actually was.

He did drop a lot of controverial potentially damaging statements, which might come back and haunt him.

He had nothing to lose tonight and when you can't lose every performance seems like a win.

An interesting perspective just stated on CNN: Hillary Clinton won because she lost tonights debate.

If Trump had completely unhinged in this debate the Republicans just might have abandoned Trump and put up a new candidate that just might have had a chance of winning the election after all.

Trump stops the hemorrhaging baiscally sums up the debate. He has not gone off the deep end. He has stabelized and has brought the Republicans behind him again.

How this plays out will remain to be seen. The third debate and what happens in the weeks between will tell us more.
