Buchanan has always tended towards isolationism IIRC, because he's a Paleo-Con (sort of). His views on the Georgia-Russia conflict would fall into that worldview on foreign policy. eg. it's a matter between those two countries and it would best we stay out.

I also like Pat because he just seems to be having so much fun.  Watch him sometime.  He's loving it.  And you get the sense, whether he is talking to his ideological soul mate or a complete opposite -- he really likes the person.  Yeah, he yells at Eleanor Clift and she yells back.  But they have a twinkle in their eye and you get the sense that, like hockey players, they brawl on the ice and then go out for a beer afterward.

I dunno.  I am just liking Pat a lot.  Most of it's personal, cause I despise his ludicrious stance on the so-called "culture wars".  But I think he has it spot-on when he says, "We need Russia."

I do find his sister, Bay, peculiarly repugnant however.

Yes, this I agree with. Buchanan is likable despite my strong disagreement with him on my positions.
