I'd struggle to live in Florida (except the eastern half of the Panhandle. Miami suburbia is my idea of hell). Or Southern California (Orange county also seems hellish) Or Utah (suburban SLC also has a ring of Hades to it) Wyoming too. Non-panhandle Idaho seems bad (and IIRC more potato's are grown in the St John Valley in Maine/New Brunswick than in Idaho), certain parts of New Jersey as well... and exurban Atlanta (which ruins an otherwise wonderful state) Add suburban Arizona. Don't forget Nevada. Or exurban Colorado. Nebraska is the dullest state in the U.S, so add it to the list. Suburban/exurban Texas as well. Large parts of Indiana should be added to the list. Suburban Alabama is dreadful. St Tammany Parish in Louisiana sounds bad.

Have I missed anywhere?

Why don't you just say you hate every rural area and farmers and get it over with already?

Eh? Just about every place I listed is suburban/exurban (wi' exeception of Southern Idaho, Wyoming and Nebraska. I added Nebraska because it is very, very dull).

As for hating rural areas, I have lived all my life in rural areas, and most of the places I've listed as hating have ruined rural areas (which is why I hate exurban Atlanta so much).

new jersey.

suburban wasteland. brownfields and beach walls.  bruce springsteen and annoying 6 hour concerts.

it's also shaped like a peanut.  i find that visually disturbing.

With my Congressional Districts naming thingy, so far I've found NJ harder to name than Florida or Georgia

Uhh some fo the Northeast corridor suburbs aren't "rich".

I always thought of suburbs in Maryland, Virginia, and eastern Pennsylvania, as well as California and Florida, as being extremely rich. I always considered everything from northern Virginia to southwestern Connecticut, except for the central cities, as rich.

I visited my relatives who lived outside Philadelphia, and compared to the surroundings there, I seemed like some poor backwoods frontiersman who was born in a log cabin.

You are sorely mistaken if you think that everyone who lives in the suburbs is rich.

Rich is a relative term

Scranton, PA; Brigdeport, Conn; Buffalo, NY; and Gary, IN.

Watch it! I like the Rustbelt (admittedly Gary proper is a sh*thole, but the other cities you mentioned aren't that bad).

If you want to pick on a Anthracite region town, go with Centralia. What's left of it... Sad

You must mean Centralia Washington, our number one employer(around 1500 people)  is the coal mine and ajoining steam plant.

Yes, there is some coal in the Northwest.

Nope. I mean Centralia, Pennsylvania. What's left of it anyway... I think a couple of people still live there.
Before the disaster it wasn't a bad little town from what I've heard.
