Not sure. I can't say I'm comfortable with it (for the usual reasons), but it's worth remembering that Megrahi was certainly not solely responsible for the mass-murder; he's merely the only person convicted.

Besides, this way British taxpayers money doesn't get spent on his healthcare!!!!1111

You do realize that many people in the Scottish Justice system now believe he was innocent, right?

I'll take a wild guess that that's not been widely reported on the other side of the sea.
