There's literally no example of this. There's also no harm in keeping it in the case things were to go pear shaped.

World war one happened because a bunch of crazy nationalists shot an archduke and everyone pointed fingers at the other person. They all got very mad (and this was in a time where war was seen as a good thing) so they all decided to go to war, and a lot of people died.
