There's kind of a running joke that "Eastern Europe" starts in the country immediately to one's east.

Do Germans use the term "Central Europe" or identify with it themselves?

I haven't voted yet, but to me Central Europe is most closely associated with the non-Balkan parts of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, excluding its easternmost reaches.

Surprised there are no votes for "there is no Central Europe."  Some have argued that the Cold War basically destroyed the concept.
