If Nas had invoked Mohammed instead, twerking on him and selling a shoe with his face on it, I'd feel similarly uncomfortable, (and concerned about the impact on LGBT Muslim youth).

If he had done that, we would be most concerned about the impact it would have on Lil Nas X.

After watching the video I’ve decided that it’s actually about the excesses of the gay lifestyle. Based.

Gov. Noem is in the right on this issue, and I give major props to BRTD for standing up for her in this thread against the waves of people attacking him for actually caring. Yeah, satanic shoes aren't the most pressing issue in the world. Still, nobody should be in the business of normalizing or rehabilitating Satan's image and society should not be treating this as if it were something perfectly normal. That this is being written off as not a big deal speaks directly to the profound spiritual malaise that this country faces.

He kills Satan in the video.

Have you seen it?

He kills Satan and puts on his “crown”, thus assimilating Satan’s character into his own. That’s the whole point of having him pole dance into hell instead of dying as a martyr and ascending into heaven after being brought into the coliseum by the drag queens.

Conservatives can't send gay people to hell for decades (including the artist's childhood and young adulthood) and expect that they take it lying down.

I know, it’s a Jungian “embrace your shadow nature” sort of thing. But it isn’t exactly anti-Satan.
