In theory, sharia only applies to Muslims. Not that that will prevent it from being applied to non-Muslims of course, but I thought that that was worth pointing out.
If you read the article, it seems to suggest that since the imposition of Muslim law on the north, it has gone unenforced in Christian neighborhoods, but that this beer-smashing represents the move to impose it on everyone.
To be expected, unfortunately. My point was that sharia, if it were applied faithfully, would not apply to non-Muslims at all.
