False dichotomy, and one that couldn't be applied to the whole group even if it wasn't.

On those who actually opened, ran, and contributed to the charities in question it is a positive mark for them overall.

On those who converted to ensure their kids were fed, I suppose you could say this is a positive but part of me doesn't really see it that way. The thing is that you're supposed to take care of your kids, and most people want to do this at an instinctual level anyways. It certainly doesn't lessen my opinion of them, but it's not really that much of a positive either.

For saying it wouldn't take much for me to abandon a religion I greatly disagree with? I'd say that'd appy to almost everyone.

Hell, you've already pretty much abandoned the parts of Christianity that aren't convenient to you.

Catholics are such a large and diverse group that not all can be classified as Freedom Fighters or Horrible People.
