1, 2, and 3(on older children, and not an extreme slap - sorta like spanking, enough to hurt but not really more). However, these punishments should be reserved for extreme misbehavior - punishment should always fit the crime. Otherwise groundings, time outs, and other non-violent punishments are preferred.

     Option five is barely acceptable, & only depending on the type of threats employed. The first four options are completely unacceptable to me. If the kid is misbehaving badly enough to warrant such severe actions, that's what law enforcement is for.

So let me get this straight - if your five year old child is misbehaving enough to warrant a spanking or a light slap to the face you would call the cops?
