So much like election night red states are off to a quick advantage in certification and Trump has way more electoral votes locked up.  Democrats are terrible with optics.

I wonder what we'd find if all these deep red states' election processes were subject to the same scrutiny that the swing states are getting?

Exactly.  The big city vote has been pretty stable.  The places that have had wild upticks in voter participation have mostly been rural (despite population loss).

This whole thing is a joke and shows how ridiculous the gerrymandering abuse is.  Now Trump is trying to get legislators to overturn state results in places like Michigan, which are only GOP legislatures in the first place because of gerrymandering.

So basically gerrymander -> legislators pick President -> President puts GOP hack judges -> Judges affirm gerrymandering.

They basically never get held accountable.  The scary thing is this is exactly what these traitors want.

Republicans hate America and have done a pretty good job of destroying it. The US might become  just another quasi-fascist banana republic at this rate.

lmao. Only the best people!

(tbf I'm sure there plenty of mega-HPs on Democratic slates too, just lower-profile ones.)

Eh, the ones on Democratic slates don't share the dubious distinction of being the first Atlas poster to kill someone (hopefully they don't share the distinction of having killed someone in general lmao).

...this guy was an Atlas poster?? Shocked Who?

He was active between 2004 and 2005, but I don't think I am allowed to link to his profile.

Oh, Jravnsbo? I think I remember him.

EDIT: I had definitely misremembered my original statement, must have mixed him up with someone else.

Ah so we can mention his (user)name? I have no idea how or why he quit, as it happened 15 years before I joined.

Oh, can't we? I don't know why we couldn't. But that wasn't the reason he quit, I now realized I have him mixed up with someone else.

Trump kind of campaigned (both times) on NOT hating the poor and NOT being a religious fanatic. While at the same time being culturally conservative in a secular way - liking macho stuff, police, army, law and order, strong borders.

I think that is a message that worked very well with the white working class in the North in 2016. I think it may have spread more to groups that they targeted less in 2016 and more in 2020, i.e. minority male working-class voters.

Now you might say that a lot of this Trumpist rhetoric is BS belied by reality. To some extent that is true, but then again, the economy has been pretty good until covid! I suspect a fair number of minority voters may have given him some credit for that. Those who bought Trump's argument about how Democrats shutting down things was the reason for any economic woes might have still supported him.
