Military aid isn't always a bad thing, so I think we should take the president's advice and put down some conditions when it is acceptable (say when the UN approves an action etc). Other than that I support this bill, especially section 3.

We could go the redraft route. I want to make it clear I do support the intentions behind this bill, but in a much more gradual/scaled manner (sorry TNF Tongue )

Also, the UN bit has to go, as we have seen how money can influence others to sometimes not vote the correct way. I don't want strings attached to our nation's decision making. That may sound arrogant, but I am arrogant, so there. Tongue

The UN vote would be a necessary but not sufficient cause for giving aid. But yeah, I agree that it's not perfect, and I don't like how one country could stop us intervening in a Kosovo like situation. Perhaps something like a UN resolution or a supermajority?
