Tonight I dreamt that the Election and History Games board was actually a real place, that is a square in my city had been furnished with tables, chairs and stands and game boxes and transformed into a place where to play election games, or something to that effect.

Get help. NOW!!!

Today I realized that my father can be described pretty well as a Karen.
Then he desperately needs to find a new barber/hair stylist.

My cousin with whom I grew up in LA (I am five days her senior) just got married down at the Hudson waterfront after 32 years of living in "sin." My partner Dan made the leis, one flower at a time, and here he is working on improving my sartorial presentation (which he thinks almost invariably needs work), right before the knot is tied.

Seeing you in those sunglasses, I have to say:

Torie, I voted for Joe Biden. I know Joe Biden. Joe Biden will be my President. Torie, you're no Joe Biden.

I miss being a red avatar. You cannot be a good person unless you are a Democrat.

Being a good person is overrated.

Being a Democrat is overrated.  I still hope to someday return to a light green avatar, but 2027 is probably the earliest that happens.

The Last Active:   Today at 03:41:44 AM is better proof of that than the stat you highlighted.

I was up for 24 hours straight for the first time yesterday in an attempt to fix my sleep schedule. Looks like it worked.

My left-leaning mom is looking at lake houses in the Carolinas this week.  She just texted me to ask about election data for those areas because she was worried that they are too pro-Trump.  I didn't realize that my mom was BRTD.
Funnily enough my parents have said the same thing — they'd love to retire to the mountains, except for all the people. I've steered them toward Waynesville/Lake Junaluska or Sylva/Cullowhee.
My mom and stepdad like Lake Murray in the suburbs of Columbia and Lake Norman outside of Charlotte.  Truthfully, I think they would be fine in somewhere like Lexington, SC.  That doesn't seem like the type of place that would be the rabid ultra-MAGA types that I think my mom is worried about.  I did provide them election results for difficult lakefront commutes that they had asked about, though.
Lexington County is super pro-republican.

There are MAGA types around here, but not too many.  Still if you want to minimize MAGA contact, I'd recommend picking a place on the Irmo (north) side of Lake Murray rather than the Lexington (south) side.

So for those of you wondering why I’ve been relatively quiet lately, I’ve been busy with finals and graduation. I am (well, as of last Monday) officially a college graduate from the University of Oklahoma with a BS in meteorology. I’ve been accepted to and will attempt graduate school at the University of Hawaii starting in the fall as well, where I’ve never been but excited to advance further in my field. For the time being, I’m back home in Nevada.

So that's why you often seem to be a fair weather friend.

Update on my car.  It's probably written off and I am temporarily driving a van that is so old that I reckon Noah used it to transport his Ark-building materials.  Nevertheless I still managed to get a speeding ticket today.  £100 fine and three points on my license.

The 17-year old girl who wrecked my car refuses to accept responsibility and as there were no witnesses insurance can't prove she was at fault.  Therefore we will split the cost of the damages.

Not a good week in Wessex.
I had a similar experience a few years ago, save it was a teenage boy. However, even without witnesses, the physical evidence was sufficient to prove he was at fault. Moreover, he had the audacity to argue at traffic court that I must be at fault since the front of my car hit the side of his truck. Somehow the fact that helped to prove he'd entered into my lane escaped him.

Today is the Feast of the Republic, commemorating the referendum held on June 2nd, 1946, in which Italians opted to change from a monarchy to our current form of government. Happy 75th birthday to the Italian Republic!

I'd troll you by proclaiming support for the current Duke of Savoy, but Vittorio Emanuele is too much an HP for me to troll you that way.

If you always push for what you desire in several fixed yet possible points, you’ll succeed.

Today I stopped my obsessive hoarding and cleaned everything that needed to be done since I was 10. Felt good to finally let go of some stuff.

Good on you.

You kept all of the Stalin portraits on the wall though surely?
I never had them on my wall silly

I had them on my altar

Makes sense. After all Stalin is the Soviet icon.

Try Kellogg or General Mills instead.

I hate sales tax audit requests. Federal government purchases are sales tax exempt, but no matter how many times I tell the technicians that, there’s still purchases made with sales tax paid. So now I have to call some auto shop up in Idaho and see if I can get the sales tax refunded. Ugh.
I feel for you. I have the same problem on the other end. Among various accounting tasks I handle, one is sales tax for a company that does installation of its product, so the sales tax should be calculated based on where it's installed, but they treat it all as if it's local. (It's not as if they need to be aware of municipal boundaries, just county boundaries, tho I do in some counties. [There are several types of local sales tax in South Carolina, and while the rate is always* uniform within a county, for one type it has to be broken down when reporting by municipality, if any, as the money goes to the municipality directly.])

* There are some variations for prepared (i.e., restaurant) food and for the Catawba reservation and for Myrtle Beach, but none of those affect that client.
