I see this ad all the time and ponder why, in these polarized times, anyone would want to own figurines of major politicians where they are bound to despise at least half of them. Also, why sell this before the Democrats have their official ticket? I know that they say they'll send you the figures, but why not just sell the entire set with them when the time comes?

Because this way they can charge you twice. They didn't say they'd simply give you the figures, they said they'd let you know when you could acquire them.

The ads say they will let you replace the Democratic king and queen with the presidential and vice presidential nominees are declared, but then there will be two Bidens?

The only way that scenario could have been realistic would have been Hillary Clinton moving back to Illinois in 1992 to serve as Bill's running mate.

Jill Biden isn't particularly interested in being on the ticket, Beau is dead, and Hunter actually is involved in the Burisma scandal.

There won't be a second Biden on the Democratic Ticket.

But there will be two Joe Bidens in this chess set, once as king (nominee) and once as rook (former VP).

Which makes no sense. Just give the rook position to say...Adam Schiff or Bill Clinton (I assume he's going to campaign for Biden somewhere)
It makes as much sense as this set. The rooks for both parties are the most recent former president and vice president from that party in a seated position.
