I'm not just saying this but... PA 13. I think the PA GOP will give PA 17 some time. Holden can't hold it forever. No use in tampering with it.

Is it pretty much a given that Pennsylvania will lose a seat in the House once the 2010 census is completed?

Yeah, pretty much.

nini, the idea of a Dem controlled State Legislature here in PA is really foolish.  Tongue

If I am ever in that PA 2, I will move. There is no way I will be in Chaka Fattah or whatever left wing extremist's district that is. That would be a total nightmare.

I assume you could be easily moved into PA-8.

Right across the street though I'd prefer NE Philly to parts of Bucks.

Which parts of Bucks?

Andalusia (near Cornswell Heights) From the area you've descrived in the past, I bet we live near each other. Scary, isn't it?  Smiley  (That's where I'm near)

Some trashy parts of Bucks include areas around Bristol. Sorry if you're from around there.

Yes, unfortunately; it's not my favorite area.

That's around my area of the Northeast.

Thats basically Bensalem or what Bensalem used to be called...that area isn't entirely bad...at least where my high school was.

I don't frequent Bensalem all that much but I have a good amount of classmates from the area. They see it as a ghetto but it's not all that bad. I definetley prefer the Northeast.

What is the style of the Northeast? Is it urban, new suburban, old suburban?  I ask because we've been discussing it for months and I just realized that I know very little about the actual area.

The Northeast is kind of like a suburban area in some areas yet has a very urban feel to it in certain neighborhoods. Most of the houses are rowhomes or twins though there are some single houses.

When was a lot of the housing built? It seems like a suburban area that is now "urbanizing"...would that be a good way to describe it? I can't believe I've never been to Northeast Philly...I need to visit this summer.

Sections are staight out of Leave it Beaver and Father Knows Best.  Some of the area is almost rural; there are a lot of woods.

Exactly. However, the area is made up mostly of row homes.

By the way, bullmoose, I live in Torresdale (in a row built in the mid 70s). Which rich neigborhood are you talking about? Crestmont Farm or the Eden Hall area is what I'm guessing. Some very, very nice homes in there. City Councilman Brian o'Neill lives in Crestmont while former Congressman Bob Borski lives near Eden Hall. Both are pretty much right down the street from me.

But if PA-13 is in Pittsburgh, what will happen to the fate of the PA-13 thread with 1,000,000 replies by then?

We will always know what PA 13 was being discussed.  Smiley

I think its Crestmont Farm...a couple kids from my HS live there.

Very nice area (I live right near there). Like I mentioned earlier, Philadelphia City Councilman Brian O'Neill (R) lives in there as well as a number of judges and lawyers.

So you're near Bristol Pike (route 13), Holy Family College etc?

I don't want to get into specifics but let's just say I am very close to Holy Family and was just there to go with my parents to vote. (For anyone who wants to waste their time, you can kind of figure out where I live since I just gave out my polling place.)

Ah...been a while since I've been there....Theres an all girls high school right there too...my bus used to drive down there to pick up some of their students for our district...

A lot of row homes, but some singles (other than the rich areas previously described)...thats a nice area of the city...there are few other areas which I'd say are better, but not many...not many at all.

Nazareth Academy is the girls' high school you are speaking of and I am one of the residents in those row homes. Torresdale is a very nice area. I don't know how it will be when I begin a family but if it stays the same, I would like to live here.
