I agree with DC. I'd be horrified if someone told me that part of my compensation was being confiscated for food subsidies.

Ah no, you misunderstand. It's like a little more than 50% on top of what you are already being paid already. Too good to be true?

It's also a lovely opportunity to remind said employees they should stay late at the office and get free supper too. In fact, why not build a corporate barracks while we're at it?

Oh no, this job is only 9 to 5 M-F. The meal subsidy would only be for the five days a week you work, but it covers all three meals. Make sense?

Maybe in your case. I do know folks who work places where the mentality differs from that some.
