Freedom Activity.
I'm actually mindboggled at people for whom it's so difficult to do, since the alternative to me is pretty sickening to think about. Sitting around your dwelling for 12 hours is something I would not be able to do, even if it was an activity I enjoy. I've played video games, made maps, watched marathons of movies or TV shows often before on my days off, but I always take a break after a few hours to go around the neighborhood because I just can't stand still that long. Plus my neighborhood is awesome to walk in, especially in fall and spring when the sun sets.
Seriously walking for 30 minutes is far more tolerable than watching baseball for 12 hours.
BRTD, I completely agree with you and enjoy walking. Sometimes when I'm bored on a night or weekend, I'll just go walk around for a few hours. It helps clear my mind and helps me focus. There's something that just feels good about getting outside and doing something. I also like to go on walks right before bed where I'll say my prayers walking around instead of just sitting in my room (the reason I mention this is because Bushie should try it...). It helps me to focus and clear my head. Taking a walk on a nice, crisp day makes me feel alive. Taking a walk in the winter in the snow is also really quaint. I prefer being able to walk most of the places I routinely go and walked into campus this morning because I could since it's only 2.5 miles. I like living in a walkable neighborhood. I'm also a runner, so it should be no surprise I like walking as well.
