It is unconscionable that as many Atlasians go hungry, Atlasian dollars are spent on maintaining and expanding our military presence abroad. We should not be intimately involved in the domestic affairs of other nations as an occupying force.

As per the President's suggestion and in the interest of getting this legislation to his desk, I am offering the following as an amendment:
This bill is unlikely to reach the President's desk before I leave office, but if it did, I would need to see the following changes, at a minimum, before signing it.

I am fine with the redraft. It is less generous than what I'd have hope for and what I'd ideally like to see, but it is a step forward and will put a significant dent in our footprint abroad.
