Ron Paul debate responses.
1. My first goal would be ending these wars. We have a ballooning deficit, we have an entire region of the world that hates us, and we are losing our boys by the day. We just marched in to those countries, and we can just as easily march out.

2. The Supreme Court should protect the Constitution, not look the other way while the last few administrations ravage it. I would appoint a strict constitutionalist to the court, because the Supreme Court is the last line of defense for liberty in this country, and more often than not, the Supreme Court refuses to stand up for liberty.

3. By far, my biggest flaw was the newsletters that came out under my name. I did not write them, and I did not even read them. I just signed off on them. I was wrong, and I offended many, many people. I think one of the most vile things put out under my name was a disgusting attack on Barbara Jordan, who served in Congress with me as part of the Texas delegation, and you know, she was a good friend of mine, and the whole delegation just loved her.

Gary Johnson and Pat Buchanan endorse Ron Paul!
Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson hit the trail for Ron Paul in New Hampshire this week, calling him "the greatest Republican ever to seek the nomination", and the only true "liberty minded candidate" in the race. Johnson, who was Governor of New Mexico from 1994 to 2002, was considered as a potential candidate for the Libertarian nomination in 2000, and is a staunch advocate of the legalization of marijuana.

Pat Buchanan joined Ron Paul in Iowa, endorsing him as the only "true Republican" running for President. Buchanan ran for President in 1992 and 1996 as a Republican, and in 2000 as the nominee of the Reform Party. Buchanan is popular among social conservatives, and called Ron Paul "a man of morals and principle" at the event.

Ron Paul Press Conference.
Reporter: Congressman Paul, do you have any comments on the disputes between the other candidates?

Paul: No, not really. I don't think it is any of my business but since I have to hear about it all the time in the media I guess I get a right to an opinion on it. It's annoying, because neither candidate has consistently bothered to consult the constitution on most issues, and neither candidate truly respects liberty. So I find it somewhat of a..well..a flat out nuisance that I have to hear about their little spats when we should be focused on bringing our men and women home from overseas, ending the Federal Reserve, and cutting the wasteful spending and red tape in Washington.

Reporter #2: Do you plan on attending the bipartisan foreign policy debate?

Paul: Yes, that has been arranged, and I look forward to attending.

Reporter #3: How do you feel about your Iowa bus tour?

Paul: I feel it went well, and I feel that the message of peace and liberty are growing here in Iowa and across the country, and I look forward to doing it again here and also in New Hampshire.

Reporter #4: Some have speculated that you might seek the Libertarian or Constitution Party nominations. Do you intend to do so?

Paul: If I am nominated by the Republican Party, I would like the endorsements of those parties, to create a coalition that supports liberty, but I don’t plan on running as a third party candidate again. But I don’t deal in absolutes so I will figure out if I want to cross the bridge when I come to it.

Ron Paul ad in Iowa.

(Clips of the candidates arguing in favor of the Iraq War. Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Newt Gingrich shown.)

Narrator: Ron Paul has stood up for liberty for over thirty years.

(Clip of Ron Paul on the Morton Downey Jr. show, specifically the "automatic selector" part.)

Narrator: Vote for a consistant defender of freedom. Vote for Ron Paul.

Ron Paul debate answers.
1. Besides the fact that war was undeclared to begin with, we have no business there. They have not attacked us, they posed no threat to us, and they had nothing against us. We went into Iraq to find nonexistent nuclear weapons and gained nothing but thousands of dead soldiers, and a nation that was once fairly prosperous is now destroyed because of us. Whole new generations of Iraqi children are now growing up hating us, and that will only lead to problems down the road. Our men and women are coming home mentally scarred and physically maimed, and for what?

2. We just marched in, and under my administration, we will just march out. I am tired of hearing about “getting the job done” and “instability in the region” and what have you, because it’s all a bunch of fear mongering and big talk. It is simply put, none of our business, and it has no direct affect on us. Speaker Gingrich, I am ashamed to hear a man so obviously intelligent as you call not only for the continuation of the Iraq war, but a military strike on Iran. It takes a veteran to know the horrors of war. I went to Vietnam, and was very, very luck to be operating on those wounded and maimed soldiers instead of being them. But, Speaker Gingrich, you got student deferments and stayed home. Why do you believe we should be there, when you won’t go yourself?

3. None what so ever. The only place we should have our military is here at home. Look at the Southern border. We should be patrolling that border, not the Iran-Iraq border.

4. My opinions on Iraq are based off of my conservative, limited government philosophy. We have no reason to be there, and we have no reason to remain there. And everyone up on stage tonight, Democrat or Republican, anti war or pro war, conservative or liberal, knows this deep down in their hearts.

OOC: I am out of town, but will be home this afternoon, so my four week schedule will be up.

Ron Paul statement on the "Newsletters" ad.
I have, from the first debates, to my bus tours in Iowa and New Hampshire, taken responsibility for the awful statements in the newsletters under my name. Senator Hagel has used attacks on other candidates to help lead attention away from his fake facade of being a "maverick", when he in fact voted for the PATRIOT Act, the Iraq War, and No Child Left Behind. Furthermore, he shamelessly flaunts his status as a veteran (which I am too) for political gain. Chickenhawk or not, a hawk is still a hawk, and we do not need more of the same. I look forward to debating the issues with Mr. Hagel, and not distractions.

When I said I was out of town earlier, I was in Vero. Strange coincidence. I have family there, and its the place where I will likely live. In this scenario, it is 100% McCain country, followed very distantly by Newt.

Ron Paul statement on Mike Bloomberg.
I welcome any chance for the two party system to be cracked open, and wish Mr. Bloomberg well in his endeavors. I hope the debates are opened up for all candidates, which does not just include Mr. Bloomberg, but also the Libertarians, Greens, and Constitutionalists.

Ron Paul ad running in Iowa.
Ron Paul ad-“Choices.”
(Clips of the candidates arguing in favor of the Iraq War. Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Newt Gingrich, Chuck Hagel shown.)
Narrator: You have four choices when you go to vote at your Caucus sight.  You can vote for Speaker Gingrich, Senator Hagel, Senator McCain, and Congressman Paul. If you support more war, bigger deficits, and broken promises, consider the first three. If you want peace, liberty, and sound money, Congressman Ron Paul is your candidate. Go and send “the man” a message, and cast your vote for Ron Paul.

(Crowd is cheering “Ron Paul! Ron Paul!)
Iowa, tonight, to quote a phrase I often hear at my rallies, we have “stuck it to the man.”
(Thunderous cheers from the crowd.”
We didn’t get first place, but we are the real winners tonight. We showed the good ole boys that liberty matters, and that the Constitution cannot, and will not be ignored! We sent a message to them tonight. We don’t want these wars!
(Cheers)
We don’t want more intrusive government laws like the “Unpatriotic Act!”
(Louder cheers)
We don’t want the government spending all its money and making you pay for it!
(Cheers)
And we sure don’t need the Federal Reserve anymore!
(Thunderous cheers)
Iowa has two tickets out, and we got one of them. We came within a thousand votes of defeating Senator Hagel. We were supposed to not even close to 1,000 votes, none the less a 1,000 votes of winning according to the establishment. We came within a thousand votes of victory! The Revolution is alive and well in Iowa tonight!
(Thunderous cheers)
We have fought long and we have fought hard, and it has paid off. Our platform of more liberty and less war is growing. And it is all thanks to you! We could not of done this without you. You know, Senators Hagel and McCain and Speaker Gingrich, you know, they had money. But I had what counts-I had you.(Thunderous cheers)
You know, they called you all “crazy”, and they called you all “racists” and “liberals” and “chickens.” I’ll tell you what all of you here tonight and all those watching at home who supported me are-your freedom fighters!
(Thunderous cheers)
And where are my manners, I can’t believe I forgot to thank some key people. First and foremost, my wife Carol, who has been at my side for 51 amazing years and I love her more every day. I could never have done anything without Carol. And I am a very proud father tonight, because if my boys Robert, Ronald, and Rand weren’t out there campaigning for me every day, I wouldn’t have gotten here. And my girls, Lori and Joy, you have been on the home front, helping out on my congressional campaigns and at home, and I love you all so much. And Kent Snyder, our campaign chairman, and Governor Gary Johnson and Pat Buchanan for all their support as well!
(Cheers)
They say an idea whose time has come has come cannot be stopped. And our time has come. So let’s go off to New Hampshire, and show the GOP what the real Republicans want! So its off to New Hampshire, and lets win there!
