70+, if even Dianne Feinstein said she wouldn't filibuster him, I doubt it will go far.

If she votes for cloture, she can kiss her Senate seat goodbye.

um, I SERIOUSLY doubt one vote would sink her, given her circumstances.  It's not like she has a serious opponent, is in any reelection trouble, or has a low approval rating.

Fascism doesn't go over well with California Democratic primary voters.

Going on your definition of "fascism" take a look at this:

Wow, a right-wing poll shows that a the nominee that the right-wing media has been shilling with has support amoung the general population when you count right-wingers.

No she can't; if she is seen as an "Obstrutocrat" she can kiss he seat goodbye.

If the Minority wishes to become the silent minority, the should attempt to filibuster.

Bush's approval rating in California is only a little over 30%. She damn well better represent the other 65% and not bend over for fascism.

Flawed argument.  Bush's popularity contest rating is separate and apart from the qualifications of Alito.  Otherwise, that wouldn't be 51% in that poll in California approving of Alito.

I already pointed out the reasons why - right-wing media and right-wing poll.

Anyways, DiFi is actually doing what is best for California and the nation as a whole. She supports a fillibuster. Despite her sh**tty votes on the Iraq war, Condi Rice, and one of the Bush tax cuts, she deserves to be re-elected after all.

Since when does she support a filibuster?

Since today.

i dont think itll come to a cloture vote.

I disagree.  I think many Senators would like to try to give the boost of a vote on Alito before his SOTU address, so it'll have to come Monday.  Gives him a nice line or two for the speech.  I don't have an exact guess about how many votes they'll get though, but since it takes at least sixty for cloture, they'll get at least sixty.

My guess would be that Feinstein would vote for cloture, but Boxer will not.

No, even moderates like DiFi are on board.

She's hadly a moderate and they are losing people like Mikulski.  A filibuster with the minority the name "Obstrutocrats" and fail, even without the "Constitutional Option."

DiFi is no liberal, she voted against the Clinton health care plan and for the Iraq war.
