This bill is a giant waste of time. Doesn't Congress have important things to worry about like massive deficits, poor job creation, that we attacked the wrong country, global warming, peak oil, and so on?

How does a woman whose case has been before 19 judges, and has been comatose and brain-dead for decades warrent more attention?

Because it's about saving a human life.  There's a difference between brain-damaged and brain-dead by the way.

We would have saved a lot more than 1 life by not invading Iraq.

We actually saved many lives by invading Iraq, but you won't see past your myopia.  You would have been one of those people advocating peace with Hitler.
