Social issues are not important this election cycle, the only thing I care about is getting drugs legalized. Move along, nothing to see here.

Social issues literally do not matter in terms of how Congress addresses issues. To make a campaign about whether someone supports an issue which makes up for less than a percentage of the bills introduced in Congress over this session is really, really unfortunate. The economy is, has and always will be (I hope) the number one issue.

Frankly, I'm with RI on this. I wish gay marriage were legal nationwide right now, but we've got bigger things on our plate right now. We can let the courts deal with that stuff and maybe legislate some stuff once we institute universal healthcare and save the economy.

Yup yup yup. I may not agree with the instituting universal healthcare and 'saving' the economy in which you probably mean it, but I'm definitely in agreement with the sentiment behind this post.
