Okay, maybe Mike Johnson is a competent parliamentarian.

Turner (whom I dislike) will be a loyal footsoldier in the ways that matter to Pelosi, just like the rest of the DSA/Justice Dems congresscritters.

Me, ten minutes ago, before going to the NYT results page for this race I haven't been following: I have absolutely no idea what issues, if any, this primary was fought on, other than that Turner is the Nina Turner and Brown is a transphobe or something. Not very inspiring options!
Me, after going to said results page: "It will pit the establishment favorite, Shontel Brown, who has the endorsement of Hillary Clinton, against the left’s favored candidate, Nina Turner, who has the backing of Senator Bernie Sanders." oh. so it's part of the 2016 forever primary. wonderful.

Seriously, that f**king primary is going to become the American center-left's equivalent of THIGMOO factional drama from the 70s and 80s, isn't it? We're never going to be free of attempts to relitigate it.

I haven't seen enough, but I'm starting to be cautiously optimistic that Ryan is going to eke this out.

We might be in recount territory. Upstate New York's (evidently very bad) courts might get involved. It's not impossible. But Molinaro is not getting a clear win.

This is going to be the most in-party-friendly midterm in a generation.

What's the recount territory? We're at Ryan +2.6 right now and given what is now out with remaining E-day but also absentees, I don't see it falling below Ryan+1

The recount territory is in the depressed, pessimistic part of my brain that's always managing expectations.

Honestly, perhaps the GOP needs some cold water splashed in its face.

Shut the f**k up about 2020. Do not advocate for total bans on abortion. Do not say you want Obergefell overturned.
Molinaro did none of those things and he still lost

The party as a whole would have to do this. I doubt it's going to.
