Steve Cohen, a key progressive ally who started off quite hawkish after 10/7, is beginning to get fed up.

The Israeli populace is absolutely pathetic for not demanding new elections.

The oldest Americans are the most supportive of Israel; the youngest Americans are the least.

While Israel retains the support of Americans for now, the trajectory is clear.

Unless the Israel of the future is radically different from the Israel of the present, a divorce from the United States is inevitable.

I mean, Israel is down to a plurality now. They're certainly falling faster than I expected.

Yeah it's been time for the South Africa treatment, but if this doesn't convince the Israel firsters nothing will.

They claimed there was a literal Bond villain lair under there.

Why is ModernBourbon allowed to comment on this? He thinks Israelis have collective responsibility for this while his own country slaughters tens of thousands in Ukraine.

IIRC ModernBourbon lives in Canada and is either a first or second gen Soviet Jewish immigrant. He is anti Putin and even had a signature skewering him a few years back.

Cutting ties with Israel would have negative consequences for US intelligence gathering in the region. It would also harm the US' ability to defend its interests in the region. Despite the extreme behavior from many Israeli factions, dissolving the US-Israel relationship completely would not be in the interest of the United States.
We could stop giving them a blank check, but for us to do that we as a country will have to realize it's a more nuanced situation than what the mainstream in this country has long thought.  Change on this front won't come from politicians, it'll have to come from a sea change in the society itself towards equal rights for all - Jew and Gentile - in the Holy Land. Politicians in a majority of scenarios are mere managers after all.

Finding nuance gets difficult when AIPAC spends obscene amounts of money to control certain politicians - Richie Torres is a particularly egregious example. Looking at his Twitter you'd think he represented Tel Aviv and perhaps spent summers in the Bronx.

Mr. X has also accused me of antisemitism with no evidence, and has called me a self hating Jew. The fact that he resorts to such nasty personal attacks is sickening.

Mr. X has also accused me of antisemitism with no evidence, and has called me a self hating Jew. The fact that he resorts to such nasty personal attacks is sickening.

If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it may just be a duck.  If you don’t want people to think you might be a self-hating Jew, maybe don’t display rabid, foaming at the mouth contempt for the idea that anti-Semitism is a bad and dangerous thing.  I call them as I see them and I take folks as they come.  You’re not here to play nice or have substantive discourse nor have you ever been.  You’re here to draw blood on anyone who disagrees with you and you’ve never hesitated to go scorched earth to achieve this goal without provocation.

As such, the gloves come off when we butt heads.  I give my unvarnished opinion of you and I don’t hold back because of how aggressively and mean-spiritedly you behave whenever you disagree with someone on this stuff, so spare me the false outrage.  I have you on ignore most of the time because I don’t like talking to folks this way even when, as in your case, I believe they richly deserve it.

I don’t say any of this as a personal attack, I’m just stating the facts as I see them.  I don’t expect you to agree.  In any case, if you don’t want the part, then don’t audition for it; know what I mean?  It has nothing to do with your views on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and everything to do with how you talk about anti-semitism, especially your tone when doing so.

You are falsely equating criticisms of Israel with anti-semitism

I've also had plenty of substantive discourse in my time on this forum.

Basically he doesn't like my tone, but can't point to a single example of me actually being the bigot he claims. Also why did he do the post and delete? Weird.

I'm not sure what you think is bad faith. You have made outlandish statements about me being a self hating Jew and are now trying to call pppolitics a bigot even though he is only guilty of a. being overexcited and b. disagreeing with you.

I think a lot of this has to do with the fact that you tend to operate with a guilty until proven innocent mentality. We saw this in 2020 when you supported Matt Lieberman until the bitter end because you were completely convinced that Rev. Warnock was a liar and had intentionally driven over his ex wife's foot. This is a scary and un-American trait.

I don't see how anyone can think about the future of Israel and remain at all hopeful. The new generation there is far more imperialist, reactionary and religious. They are on a dark path and it's going to get worse.

Israel's chief media whip on Fox News suggests Israel will move 2 Million Gazans to South America, Europe and other regions to get de-radicalised before cleaning out all of the military capability in Gaza.

Shipping Gazans Overseas

Israel's main game now is de-radicalizing the Islamists from Gaza who have 'lost their way'.

Israel doing their damndest to make the migrant crisis even worse. I struggle to think of another country so keen on pushing their self inflicted problems on everyone else.

Israel is an incredibly racist society, despite the PR. Polls have shown over 50% of Israelis think Black Jews are a negative for their country.

I don't care for the source either, doesn't make the complaints of the family less valid, nor does it change my point

I've a question: will it be possible for the UN to revoke the UN Resolution 181 in the goal to cancel the state of Israel ?

Some twittos suggest it. They consider Israel as too evil to exist.

Anything can be said on social media, emotionally. But I doubt it can brin some viable solutions.

Like many other things, it's theoretically possible, but wildly unrealistic. This would be a security council resolution, so it would require the US, UK, and France to all be led by either far-right or far-left leadership.

And the next step after that would likely be either nothing or nuclear war, rather than an orderly dissolution of Israel. The UN has few enforcement powers.

Far right Le Pen is likely to be running France soon and she's very pro Israel as well as pro Russia.

I wonder if this soldier's family believe in 'from the river to the sea'

I don't know if this source can be trusted in any way, but most black soldiers in the IDF are black Jews and would be likely to be fiercely patriotic.
I know, I was just drawing attention to how Horus doesn't actually care about this family or black Israeli's and is just using them as another cynical cudgel to try convince us the dismantling of Israel is just

I support the existence of Israel within 1967 borders. All settlers need to either go back over the line or lose citizenship.

Why would "Quds News Network" -- which, again, is literally just Hamas -- know anything about a funeral that happened in Israel?

Better question.  Why is Horus getting Quds News Network as part of his daily news diet, and what impact is this having on his brain?  You know you really have to go out of your way to find this content since QNN is banned from TikTok and Facebook (it was also banned from Twitter for years).

I'm not getting Quds network in my feed. I followed one of the links MBD put up and the "Free Palestine" page shared it. The text says no one showed up to his event and the building was empty. Are you disputing the words of this young man's family?

I don't know how people can keep calling Biden a "dove." It's disgusting we're funding these war crimes - without any say from Congress in this case.

If I weren't in a swing state he would've lost my vote long ago.

Imagine being so pro Likud that Tim Kaine has to call you out.

If being pro-Israel automatically means you’re pro-Likud, does being pro-Palestinian automatically mean you’re pro-Hamas?  I disagree on both counts, but if we follow your line of reasoning, then the latter would seem to logically follow.

Tim Kaine is one of the most moderate Dems in the Senate and like Mark Warner is heavy on NatSec. Don't you think it's rather alarming that someone that milquetoast and establishment is calling out Biden? You seem to be ignoring the heart of the matter, trying to distract from how radical Biden is here by focusing on how jfern phrased his post.

Well, it certainly foes seem like a number of people on here are pro-Likud, despite them constantly saying they are not.

Moreso that there's little difference between Likud and the establishment center right bloc (Yesh Atid, National Unity) when it comes to Gaza. The primary differences are over settlements. Even center/center left Meretz is quite hawkish.

Very few posters on here are pro-Hamas, if you mean by that lauding the acts of October 7.

Quite a few are sympathetic to the Palestinian people, this is not the same thing however.

The only poster I can recall expressing pro Hamas sympathies was MATTROSE and he was immediately banned. As he should've been.

Snowstalker was there too, but again also banned.

He was overly enthusiastic, but I don't remember any posts that crossed the line into Hamas sympathizer territory. Still, so many were deleted that I could very well be wrong.

What type of cold heartless monster would show such a lack of empathy for their fellow humans? It’d be like if someone on this site called a well documented massacre of a village fake news or dismissed a documented report by the UN on war crimes happening in a country and then did a fake humanitarian virtue signaling bit on the bodies of dead Palestinians

You stalking me won't hold Bakhmut for Ukraine. It also has nothing to do with the topic.

You are no better than the all West all the time Ukraine/Israel hypocrites. Your entire worldview is motivated by campism.

Ukraine and Palestine are by and large the victims of their respective conflicts. Hindsight gets this, and in time, so will the historical consensus.
