Washington State's ecetoral system is a good example of why post card voting should not be practiced.  It takes forever for them to count the votes.  Maybe someday technology will catch up to their system.
The problem is that they accept ballots with election day postmarks.  Most other states require mail-in ballots to be received by election day (with some exceptions for overseas ballots).
