Obviously, we should be against video games, but not for any "safety" reasons. It's for the same reason the internet should be banned: they create sloth and detract from one's path towards righteousness and productivity, our two great callings.

Yes it is. But if it's not electronic media and entertainment, it'll be something else people choose to distract themselves from God with.
A very good point. We'd likely find stoned teenager drawing lines in the sand haphazardly if we took all else away from them. I suppose that's the greatest reason to live and let live at this point.
