I've never understood this sentiment.  If you have a responsibility to vote, isn't the corollary of that a responsibility to be educated about your choices?  Does anyone really see that happening?

People should be actively involved with exploring the details of the candidates.  That is implied with the responsibility aspect of voting; as in, making an informed decision.
