Guliani getting on the VP ticket could really hurt Bush.  Guliani is quite liberal and that would alienate Bush's core.  Also even with Guliani as VP, Bush isn't going to be able to touch Kerry in NY

Pataki's not as liberal as Guliani, but would still alienate the base, and Pataki won't make NY anything other than a Kerry landslide in NY, not to mention Pataki's popularity ios not what it once was (probablyy at its lowest levels or close to its lowest levels since he became NY's govenor)
