Pataki-  No Way, VERY VERY unpopular in his home state, people who tend to get the nomination, don't tend to be the guys that lose re-election by 30 points or not seek re-eletion because they would have lost by 30

Giuliani-  Umm NO.  Very Pro Gun Control, pro gay-Rights, Pro gay Marriage, pro chocie aginst the PBA ban,  makes Chafee look like a conservative Republican

Hagel-  Too many comments to piss of the base

Snowe,  Votes with the Dems about as much as she does with the GOP, more so on key issues such as abortion & the tax cuts

Shays-  See above

McCain-  Like Hagel leans conservative, but has pissed off too many Republicans on issues he disagrees with the bas on.  Despite supporting Bush's re-election has been very- critical of his policies ( a No-No if your a Republican) & of course who can forget the 2000 debacle claptrap from Rove.  Also age & health reasons

Also Robertson recently stated on ABC's This Week that he would frown upon a third party run if Giuliani or any of these "non-wingnuts" (whatever the hell a wingnut is, simply far-left slang) would recieve the nomination.

If you honestly think Robertson would vote for someone who is almosta s socially liberal as I am (Rudy) over a Roy Moore then well......
