That really is pathetic. Sorry Governor Pataki but you can't sit around, hoping for a number 2 spot.

I guess he thinks he has a better chanc e of getting the # 2 slot sitting around after not running, than sitting around after getting shallacked by 20+ points running for Govenor again or discombulated spat out & crapped on by losing by 30+ points going for the Senate

How about just going into retirement or maybe run for President, win the NH primary, get tons of attention, lose everywhere else and then be thought of as a possible VP candidate? It's better than sitting around hoping for VP.

Maybe to stay away from the infighting?  Pataki isn't as liberal as Rudy is, but his liberal viewpoints on social issues would be fodder in the primaries.  He would probably be ripped more than anyone else in the primaries because of it (unless Rudy runs because Rudy is even more socially liberal than Pataki).  Someone who gets ripped a ton in the primaries probably won't get picked for VP.  Their were some jabs thrown back in forth between Kerry & Edwards, but their is a big difference between jabs here & there & an all out bash fest which would result if Pataki or Rudy fo r that matter were in the GOP prmaries, because they would be quite a bit more socially liberal than the others
