His murderer is in prison for the rest of his life. The cop who had to shoot Ashli Babbitt to keep her out of the Capitol wasn't charged. There clearly was a big difference.

1/6: one lady got capped, another ODed on meth, and a third guy tazed himself in his own balls so hard that he died

There's really no comparison, and Democrats are doing themselves a disservice in engaging in this 1/6 hagiography instead of seeing it for the farce that it was

It's not the numbers it's the attack. An attack on the nation could result in no deaths and still be highly problematic. The fact that some many members of Congress could have been killed and a puppet government installed is unprecedented.

No one is pretending the riot didnt happen. We just arent pretending it was an almost successful, organized effort to overthrow the government.

An attempt is bad enough. And you know exactly what those rioters would have done to any member of Congress they could have gotten their hands on. I hate "whataboutism" but if the situation was reversed Republicans and conservatives wouldn't be so nonchalant.

One thing that I will say is that 1/6 had no chance at accomplishing anything and was therefore a massive nothing burger on its effects to the United States.

Killing the Vice-President, the Speaker of the House, or possibly the first member of Congress (or even multiple ones) killed in the line of duty since Leo Ryan is not a "nothing burger."

Again, thats assuming such would happen. You keep acting like we have actual proof of an actual intended plan to murder people. AOCs weird fantasies arent proof. I highly doubt the morons in the Capitol actually intended to or would in fact murder people like that. No one has been prosecuted for it. Did Kathy Griffin or Madonna actually intend to murder Trump because of the dumb stuff they said/did?

They were chanting "Hang Mike Pence". What exactly do you think would have happened had they gotten their hands on him?

Nothing. Same as if Chris Chan or the thousands of other lefties shooting their mouth off about stopping nazi fascist hitler trump ran into him. Idiots shoot their mouth off all the time without actual intent to do anything. Again like Madonna and Kathy Griffin.

The zip ties suggest otherwise. The insurrection was more than talk, it was action.

None of those people tried to kill Trump or elected officials to overturn the election though. Remember that the insurrection was just a culmination of a month of death threats against election officials.
