His resignation takes effect next Saturday, so if Wynne sees the LG ASAP as she promised Brown could be in the Leg when it sits on Sept. 14.

In Quebec Levesque tried to defeat Bourassa in the Bertrand by-election, he thumped PQ candidate (and future BQ MP) Francine Lalonde but narrowly lost in the GE despite the Gritnami. Earlier Lesage did not seek a seat in 1958-9 because the Unionists vowed to target him.

Here in Quebec, 2 PLQ MNAs resigned this past week. Marguerite Blais (Saint-Henri-Sainte-Anne) and Gilles Ouimet (Fabre). Both backbenchers.
