Rubio: if you decide to run for President, you do so because you want to be President, not you want to be POTUS unless someone else wants to be POTUS first.

Sanchez: there's plenty of time for him to drop down, but he's said he doesn't want to do that. A pity IMO, especially since the Leg might not be averse to changing the law.

I don't think Rubio cares at all about the Senate seat.  He only ran for Senate in order to use it as a stepping stone for a presidential run.  Now, it's possible that he nonetheless bows out of a presidential run this time, and goes for Senate again, to bide his time for a future run...but only if he thinks that 2020 or 2024 will be a more favorable time for him than 2016.


Agreed, but out of public office entirely if he loses nom & keeps to his "up or out" mantra?
