That's a reason I wouldn't support Rubio: too inexperienced.

Jeb: I'd deal with Congress like LBJ.

Ryan on FNS: Have no desire to be in elected leadership, would have run "years ago" if he did. Will "never" run for it. Said he enjoyed being on the trail, running for POTUS seemed "more realistic" than previously. Would consider it once he's through this cycle's budget wars. Which come to think of it, is very similar to Tom Cotton's answers on Senate. Smiley

Doesn't matter because he's a lock in '14 anyways. If Ryan doesn't run he'd probably still be a dark horse despite the national attention. Evangelism would certainly help in Iowa.

Also is it just me or do non-DC presidentiables have a much harder time gaining name ID/traction simply because they're outside DC? Thinking of Jindal and Walker specifically here.

NRO's Bob Costa was Tweeting this afternoon that most Pub insiders at this stage expect Ryan to forgo a run and focus on WM/Speakership but eventually take a run at the WH.

Immigration hawks turn to Jindal. I doubt he hammers them on this, just lets it blow up on the tarmac and say "I was always against it."

Christie is Romney's successor as center-right candidate, so it wouldn't really hurt him unless only 1 or 2 righties made it out of the conservative invisible primary.

Scott Walker is co-authoring a book with Marc Thiessen. Part bio, part manifesto like Jindal's Leadership in Crisis.

P16 profiles the top 5 Dems' religious beliefs. 3 Catholics, 2 Methodists. Though for some reason Warren is included on this list.

They're also very old and close personal friends. At this point tis almost certain that Walker is the Cheesehead who runs, but that can change on a dime. Remember that for a while in 2011 we were all unsure whether Ryan would accept a VP slot.
