All gaps in Bushie's employment can be explained by his dedication to his life as a freelance blogger.

The roast chicken from Wal-Mart is dripping in fat. I get one from there every now and then. I usually get one, break it up, and use the pieces as toppings for a salad.

As the Bushie clan eats, it wouldn't matter if its Wal-Mart fat roasted or fried since there will never be a salad.

You all missed the fact that I ate at a mom and pop instead of a big chain.  Instead, I got bashed over the head because it's fried chicken.

I only care that you eat vegetables and work at a job you won't get fired from. Everything else is BS.

I'm sorry how rude!

Let's give a big round of applause for helping a small business! Don't you monsters know good news when you read it!

Oh... IT'S FRIED CHICKEN! Was there even a plant-based element that wasn't just fibrous material held together with fat?

No, you aren't getting congratulated for that and you should be bashed over the head for another set of decisions that are so obviously terrible.

Green Beans w/Bacon is on the menu... perhaps there is hope?

Bushie would really like Whole Foods if he gave it a try. Everything is significantly more expensive, a huge plus. Their hotbar is loaded with prepapred "home cooked" meals like mac and cheese and fried chicken, another plus.

He can also continue to not eat healthy but brag about how he's switched to organic cheeseburgers and all-natural chocolate chip cookies.

no answer on the scaling back of the cable package.

im guessing that is crazy talk to suggest such a thing.

Bushie answered a few pages back in a long post. Cancelling the cable package means "living like someone from the 1940s" and that he'd have to "sleep all day" with no entertainment.

Perhaps NWOSU teaches its student about eCommerce the same way Bob Jones University teaches its students about evolution.

Bushie what did you originally want to major in before you got sucked into e-commerce?

As a child, I wanted to major in meteorology at the University of Oklahoma.  Unfortunately, though, I did not have the proper ACT score to get into OU, so I had to go to a regional university.

You could have transferred to ou.

I probably could have, but I was having so much fun at Northwestern and I felt comfortable in the small town of Alva.

Teddy started on third base, but he definitely made sure he got as much as exercise as possible on the run from third to home.

Bushie should definitely marry a nice young Mexican girl. She'll be devoutly into Jesus and know how to make him plenty of Taco Salad.

Bushie's move to the far right is why he needs to stop spending so much time living with his family and go out living with people, even church people, his own age.

His opinions sound grumpier than our resident Grumps.

HaHa, ODF is great. Please don't provoke or make him mad guys. Just ask more questions without incident so I can read his wonderful answers! They are the highlight of my day.

In other news, yet another relevant Onion content has come our way:

I'm pretty sure Jeff just is confusing the term bigotry with profiling. It's debatable but not controversial to supporting profiling.

At least this political talk forced ODF to apply for jobs in order to change the subject. Good work, Bushie.

It's a bit bigoted of them to hold such prejudice against fats, but as a wise Reverend once said, "bigotry is not necessarily a bad thing."

i think we all realize that in bushie's circle of friends and family...being a fat is not a bad thing and not looked down upon.

im sure mama bushie encourages him to eat more.

That's actually an interesting question, Jeff -- does your family acknowledge the health risks posed by your obesity and encourage you to eat better / exercise, or is it ignored?

They think diabetes is a joke so no.

As far as our reaction to Dad's diagnosis.  We all were laughing when he got home.  You can either get really upset and distraught or you can take it in stride and laugh.  We chose the laughing route.  Dad joked that he is now "joining the medicine club."  Up until now, he has not had to take medicine on a daily basis.  He'll be fine.  We know where we need to cut down and we'll have further meetings as a family, but it doesn't mean we're going to stop enjoying ourselves  in the food department, especially on the weekends.  As a family we have a policy that diets are not allowed to begin on weekends.  Weekends are about having fun with what you're eating and enjoy yourself.  Healthy (or healthier) eating is for Monday-Thursday night.  When Dad has Friday off, Thursday night gets lumped in with the weekend enjoyment.  We will continue to enjoy ourselves.  Clearly there needs to be changes to what we are doing, and those changes will come, but we are not going to throw everything in the cupboard in the trash and start over just because of a diagnosis.  We'll make gradual changes.

"Presenting yourself in the best way possible" means getting your life together and losing some weight.

And with all the stress-free unemployed time he's had over the years, it's really inexcusable that he hasn't been able to lose any weight. He should be exercising every day and with all the naptime he should have plenty of energy to do so.

By simply eating a normal person's complete 3 meals of 700 calories max a day for 2100 calories a day with fruits and vegetables and taking a light walk at his best pace for 30 minutes (15 minutes from the front door of his house, turn around 15 minutes back), he would lose 15-20 pounds a month and be a normal weight by Thanksgiving Day, maybe even before the end of the summer.

His problems are a slap in the face to anyone with actual difficult weight loss challenges of the pesky 10 lbs or post-pregnancy baby weight who work 40 hours a week and raise children. He literally only has to behave like a normal human and the pounds would fly off.

Good morning.  I slept well and I have started the job search for today.  Hopefully, today will be just as productive as yesterday.

Any exercise in the mix??

Bushie's idea of a productive day is over the course of a 24 hour period to fill out 4 job applications, something that shouldn't take more than 30 minutes and if had a LinkedIn profile to auto fill in common questions, wouldn't take more than 5 minutes at most. The other 23.5 hours be damned.
