Well, not really but sorta
Anyway, I was looking after my nephew today, also five and fully lily white American, and I took him for ice cream at a nearby Baskin Robbins. We order and wait around inside when another little boy who only spoke Spanish came up to my nephew and started talking to him. Well, my nephew doesn't speak Spanish so he was confused and just tried to ignore him.
I couldn't really understand him either because he was talking so fast but it sounded like he was asking for money or selling something off the basic spanglish I knew so I just told I him "no gracias." He paused and I thought he would just walk away.
The ice cream is ready so I turn around to pick it up and turn back and within a split second my nephew is on the ground swinging as the Mexican boy has pulled off both his shoes and was trying to run away with them. Needless to say, we don't take kindly to 5 year olds mugging other 5 year olds around here.
And that's my pertinent Arizona immigration law story of the day.
