On what specific issues does DeSantis take the party's moderate stance, and what is the 'conservative Republican' stance on those issues?

As governor, DeSantis is not particularly fiscally conservative.  He doesn't sing the songs of Paul Ryan or Ted Cruz when it comes to slashing entitlements or taxes, for example.

In general, moderate Republicans do not tend to have been founding members of the House Freedom Caucus.

Biden was also once an opponent of integration busing, for what it's worth.

DeSantis has always had presidential ambitions.  The wind was blowing in favor of conservative Republicans when he was a young House freshman in 2013.  The (predictable) success of moderate Trump has shown Ron a different path.

Not being Paul Ryan or Ted Cruz does not make you a moderate lol . It just makes you a mainstream Republican which is different from a moderate. DeSantis is still to the right of George W Bush on economics for example .

Paul Ryan and Ted Cruz are mainstream, DeSantis is to the left of them.  Ergo, he is a moderate.
