Hopefully. People on the ground still seem to think that it's much closer than the polls indicate, so it might give her the edge.

On a night where results defied the polls in both directions, the polls in Maine were spot on. With 85% of precincts reporting, Mills is up by 8 and has surpassed 50% of the vote. An absolutely historic result, and a major repudiation of the GOP.

James Melcher, a former professor of mine at UMF, is usually accurate (Amy Fried is a partisan hack who happens to also be a college professor), but Angus King won like 58-59% of the vote for Governor in 1998 (when he was running for reelection).

Fried is quite partisan, but she's a good academic.

Yeah, Republicans have made a lot of hay over the "more votes [for Governor] than anyone in Maine history" over the last four years, often as a retort to people complaining about him not getting a majority either time and then governing like he had won in a landslide and had a "mandate".
Looks like Governor Mills won’t need that, then!
