If academic plagiarism isn't a scandal, what is?

It's something almost all student did, especially in internet age, I think that he should apologize but, given that it happen before he became minister and it's not involved with his action as defence minister, this can't destroy his career.

Academic plagiarism is just about the worst thing you can do at uni. We allowed far-right political marches; near-nude mud wrestling, and even beer bongs - only plagiarism would get you kicked out.

I'm not talking about what is allowed, but about what is actually often done. I'm sure also in Australia.
