Not a big Bentley fan, but there isn't many Democrats in Alabama that I think could beat him. Terri Sewell (AL-07) seems like the best chance, but I doubt she will try.

You know she's black, don't you? Afroamerican running statewide in Alabama = loser.

Could a severely conservative black Republican like Allen West or Herman Cain win a statewide election in someplace like Alabama or Mississippi if the Democratic candidate was a rather centrist white guy?

That could happen, but I believe the white democrat would be favored.
