As far as I'm concerned, politics is a lot like an area's climate: an added bonus. All things being equal, I would take a conservative area over a liberal area, but there are a lot more things to consider. I've been in a lot of places and all around, everything considered, I would usually take an area in the interior mountain west over anywhere else.
