That's not a Conservative viewpoint; it's a nut job viewpoint. I'm absolutely, 100% against abortion, and I'm a Bible-believing Christian, and I find this statement ridiculous. I absolutely believe that the ills of the world stem from Adam's allowing sin to come into the world, but this is just plain crazy.

I definitely agree with what some earlier posters have said: this guy obviously has no real Biblical knowledge, and obviously women who have never had an abortion can have disabled kids. One example who has been very much is the news lately is Sarah Palin's son.

Let me finish by saying that I absolutely love children. It is my intention to go to Saint Petersburg, Russia and work as a children's missionary - hopefully with orphans and street children - and anyone who would try to make political fodder out of a child from either side is absolutely disgusting.

State Delegate Bob Marshall (Nutjob) of Virginia

Makes sense to me. I think we should probably see that after the names of a lot of politicians.

I agree with Scott.  As a Bible-believing Christian from Oklahoma and someone who had a neurological disorder as a child, which in the medical sense was a disability and friends with parents of children with disabilities, I believe that the contrary is more true.  Sometimes disabled children are a blessing from our Heavenly Father.  My "disability" has caused me to rely on my God more and made me who I am today.  If I hadn't had the disability, I don't think I would be as good of a Christian, because I would have probably been more arrogant and rebellious thinking my body was somehow perfect.

Great story. As Paul said, "Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. " Our weaknesses can be used to draw us closer to God, and as such, we should give thanks in everything that comes our way.

I couldn't begin to count how many times I've heard a parent of a disabled child talk about what a special blessing that particular child has been to them. Psalm 127:3 seems to fit well here: "Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD: and the fruit of the womb is his reward."

I've been wondering that, too. Not that I expect they'll admit to it. Virtually everyone from all sides has been disagreeing with that nut.
