Probably because the Republicans aren't likely to nominate a slimebag owned by the liberal media.

Well, lets follow the trail of your poor excuse for reasoning.

P1. John McCain claims to be a Republican

P2. You (apparently) want McCain as President.

C.  Ergo, you are a Republican.

In the highly unlikely event he was to be nominated, there would be a major third party conservative oriented effort comparable to the Perot effort.

Remember, McCain is buddies with Kennedy, and does NOT want to stop illegal immigration but DOES want to grant amnesty to illegal aliens.

P1. Last time I checked, he was.

P2. No, I was just implying the idiocy of your statement. "Liberal Media", are you on drugs?!?

C. No, I am a proud Democrat, and I couldn't live with myself as a Republican. The Republican here is you.

First, are you saying you don't want McCain elected, but just want to saddle the Republicans with a slimebag so the Democrats can nominate just about anything and get elected?

Second, are you denying that the so-called 'mainstream media' is liberal?  If so, you are out of step with the majority of the members of that media and the public.

Third, I realize that you see the Democrat party as an intolerant bunch of left wing kooks, but the party is a big tent, which includes conservative Democrats.

You hit upon several important points.

First, the Republicans have failed to provide the tangible support (financial) for active duty military (and their families) as well as military retirees.  Unfortunately, they get away with this because too many Democrat politicos make it clear their distain and contempt for members of the armed forces.

Second, the Republicans are VERY vunerable on the matter of illegal immigration.  Bush wants to give amnesty to illegal aliens and has failed to place the number of border patrol personnel on our sourther border as Congress has provided for in its financing bill.
